We contacted TRG the night prior and received immediate contact. Their team was on-site within 36 hours and completed a very tricky job of installing a new Water heater in a tight loft space to replace one that was leaking and causing damage. They perform their duties with great professionalism and quality work, on time and to the exact quote they stated. I would use them again and encourage anyone else to use them also. Ian

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had no idea how big the problem was with our drainage. TRG Plumbing were amazing - they offered alternate solutions looking for the least invasive and most cost efficient way to fix the issues.
Josh from TRG was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble - he took the time to explain everything and really cared about our job and the outcome.
Tom and his team go over and above.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were really impressed with the service and experience we had with TRG. They installed a new hot water heater for us and fixed the drainage of our downpipes to connect to the stormwater at the street. They took care to really understand exactly what we were after with the work and made sure it was as neat and tidy as possible. They worked quickly and efficiently and their price was way more competitive than some of the other quotes we got. Tyrone, who mainly worked on the project, was really easy to deal with and we were very happy with the outcome. Would recommend.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t rate these guys highly enough. Had a plumbing issue for 3years, had 3 different plumbers come out and given wildly different fixes with a huge variant in cost, ranging from 2k to 10k+ & ripping off walls to saying it can’t be done. Tom was immediately confident they could fix it and the team (shoutout Josh & Anthony!) who thought outside the box, found the water cut off for the unit which the other 3 failed to do & fixed the problem promptly without knocking down any walls while keeping price in a very reasonable range. Also organised a plasterer & tiler to work concurrently with them & get the job done super fast. Brilliant all round, would recommend to anyone getting the run around. Never felt talked down to or patronised in any way & they showed up on time! Great communication and fully informed before any tasks started, with price point of differences given for each step. Just top blokes. I won’t use anyone else now. Huge thank you TRG!!

Ready to renovate the bathroom in your Clayfield Queenslander while preserving its period character and elevated streetscape charm?

Character-Sensitive Bathroom Renovations for Clayfield Heritage Homes

Clayfield is known for its tree-lined streets and stately Queenslanders, including the architect-designed houses of the heritage-listed Enderley Road precinct. Renovating bathrooms in these late 19th-century and Interwar homes requires a careful hand to preserve period features like timber detailing and original proportions. Our plumbers modernise the function and waterproofing of your bathroom while respecting the home's heritage character, ensuring new fixtures and finishes complement rather than overpower the original architecture you bought into.

Plumbing Upgrades for Elevated Clayfield Queenslanders

Many Clayfield homes sit elevated on masonry piers, which gives us valuable under-floor access but often reveals ageing original plumbing that no longer meets modern standards. When renovating, we take the opportunity to replace tired pipework, improve drainage falls and reposition fixtures to suit a better layout. This proactive approach prevents leaks within timber-framed walls and floors, protecting your investment in one of Clayfield's well-established family residences for decades to come.

Compliant Waterproofing for Clayfield Bathroom Renovations

Waterproofing is the most critical stage of any bathroom renovation, especially in Clayfield's older timber homes where moisture can quietly damage framing and subfloors. We apply waterproofing membranes to Australian Standards before tiling, ensuring wet areas, showers and floors are fully sealed. Combined with Brisbane's subtropical climate and the suburb's proximity to the Kedron Brook floodplain on its northern edge, getting waterproofing right gives Clayfield homeowners genuine long-term peace of mind.

Bathroom Renovations Clayfield FAQ

Common questions from Clayfield homeowners planning a bathroom renovation in their heritage Queenslander or established family home.

Can you renovate a bathroom in an older or heritage Clayfield home?

Yes. Many Clayfield homes are traditional Queenslanders or Interwar houses, and we specialise in character-sensitive renovations that preserve period detail while modernising plumbing, waterproofing and fixtures. Elevated homes on masonry piers often give us good under-floor access to make upgrades easier.

Do I need council approval for a bathroom renovation in Clayfield?

Most like-for-like bathroom renovations don't require council approval, but homes in heritage-listed areas such as the Enderley Road precinct may have additional considerations. We can advise on what's needed and recommend checking with Brisbane City Council before structural or external changes.

How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Clayfield?

Cost depends on the size of the bathroom, the fixtures chosen and how much plumbing relocation is involved. Older Clayfield homes sometimes need extra pipework upgrades, which we identify upfront. We provide a clear, itemised quote so there are no surprises.

What waterproofing standards do you follow?

We waterproof all wet areas to the relevant Australian Standards before tiling begins. This is especially important in Clayfield's timber-framed homes, where proper membranes protect framing and subfloors from moisture damage given Brisbane's subtropical climate.

Can you design a small or character bathroom in Clayfield?

Absolutely. Compact bathrooms in older Clayfield houses benefit from clever layouts, custom vanities and smart storage. We design to maximise every centimetre while keeping the look in harmony with your home's period character and leafy streetscape.

Do you handle the entire bathroom renovation?

Yes. We manage the whole project for Clayfield homeowners, from design and demolition through plumbing, waterproofing, tiling and fixture installation to the final fit-out. You deal with one trusted team from start to finish.
