Stormwater Drainage The Gap

TRG Plumbing’s fully licensed plumbers provide expert stormwater drainage installation, repairs, and maintenance across The Gap, a leafy, hilly suburb located about 10 km north-west of Brisbane’s CBD. With its elevated blocks, sloped driveways, and abundance of mature trees, The Gap’s properties face unique stormwater management challenges, from rapid rainwater runoff to gutter and drain blockages caused by leaves and debris.

Our The Gap Stormwater Drainage Services Include:

New stormwater system design and installation:
Customised to your property’s slope and size.
Stormwater drain repairs:
Fixing cracks, collapsed sections, and joint failures.
Blocked stormwater drain clearing:
Removing silt, debris, and tree root intrusion.
CCTV stormwater inspections:
Pinpointing issues without excavation.
Downpipe and gutter connections:
Ensuring smooth flow into stormwater systems.
Preventative maintenance programs:
Keeping systems clear before the wet season.

During Brisbane’s intense summer storms, poorly designed or blocked stormwater systems can lead to flooding, erosion, and foundation damage. Our stormwater drainage solutions are designed to handle The Gap’s steep terrain and comply with Brisbane City Council regulations, ensuring reliable water management year-round.

We contacted TRG the night prior and received immediate contact. Their team was on-site within 36 hours and completed a very tricky job of installing a new Water heater in a tight loft space to replace one that was leaking and causing damage. They perform their duties with great professionalism and quality work, on time and to the exact quote they stated. I would use them again and encourage anyone else to use them also. Ian

Stormwater Drainage The Gap FAQ

We design, install, and maintain stormwater drainage systems in The Gap, helping protect homes, apartments, and commercial properties from flooding, erosion, and water damage during Brisbane’s heavy rainfall and storm season.

Why is stormwater drainage important in The Gap?

The Gap’s hilly terrain and leafy environment mean heavy rain can quickly cause runoff, pooling, and property damage without effective drainage systems in place.

How can I tell if I have a stormwater drainage issue?

Signs include pooling water around the property, overflowing gutters, damp or mouldy walls, erosion in the garden, or water entering during storms.

Do I need council approval for stormwater drainage work?

Yes. Any changes to a property’s stormwater system must comply with Brisbane City Council regulations and may require permits or inspections.

Can you install new stormwater systems?

Yes. We design and install complete stormwater drainage solutions, including pits, pipes, and connections to the council network.

Do you repair blocked or damaged stormwater pipes?

Yes. We use CCTV inspections to locate blockages or damage, then clear, reline, or replace pipes as required.

What causes stormwater issues in The Gap?

Common causes include leaf litter from surrounding trees, undersized pipes, poor grading, debris from construction, and tree root intrusion.

Can stormwater be reused?

Yes. We can integrate rainwater harvesting systems to store runoff for irrigation, toilet flushing, and other non-potable uses.

How often should stormwater systems be maintained?

We recommend annual maintenance, plus checks before and after Brisbane’s storm season, to keep systems clear and functional.

Do you service both residential and commercial properties?

Yes. We work on stormwater systems for homes, apartments, retail outlets, and commercial premises in The Gap.

Can you upgrade existing stormwater drainage?

Yes. We can increase pipe capacity, add additional pits, and regrade surfaces to better manage heavy rain and reduce flood risk.

What materials do you use for stormwater pipes?

We use PVC for most residential applications and reinforced concrete for heavy-duty or commercial jobs.

How quickly can you respond to urgent stormwater issues?

We offer prompt local response, with same-day service available for urgent flooding or severe blockages.
