Brass Jumper-Valve Taps in Hendra's Older Homes

The bathrooms, laundries and kitchens of Hendra's late-1800s and early-1900s Queenslanders are often still fitted with traditional brass taps. The rubber washer hardens, the seat pits, and a quick washer change stops the drip for a fortnight. We reseat the body with a proper seating tool and replace the jumper, O-rings and body washer as a set.

Shower Leaks Behind Timber Walls in Hendra

A shower tap leaking at the spindle sends water behind the wall, and in a timber-framed Hendra home that means wet studs, swollen skirtings and lifting tiles, often with mould after a humid summer.
