Plumbing Renovations Kedron

Bathroom Renovations Kedron

TRG Plumbing's licensed and insured plumbers deliver complete bathroom renovations across Kedron, the leafy inner-northern Brisbane suburb (postcode 4031) about 11 km from the CBD. With roughly 59% of homes free-standing and a famous concentration of character Queenslanders in "the Avenues" east of Leckie Road, many local bathrooms sit in interwar and early post-war homes with original timber framing and ageing plumbing. We specialise in modernising these spaces while preserving period detail, and we understand the older pipework, lead-headed fixtures and tight floorplans common in Kedron's heritage stock. From character cottages near Gordon Park to post-war homes by the Padua precinct, we manage every stage.

Our Kedron Bathroom Renovations Services Include:

Complete bathroom design and fit-out:
End-to-end renovations tailored to Kedron's character Queenslanders and compact post-war cottage layouts.
Plumbing upgrades and relocations:
Replacing ageing original pipework and relocating supply lines in older Kedron homes around the Avenues.
Waterproofing and tiling:
Compliant waterproofing and tiling that protects timber-framed Kedron homes from moisture damage.
Fixture and tapware installation:
Modern, water-efficient tapware that complements the period character of your Kedron bathroom.
Custom vanity and storage solutions:
Clever joinery that maximises space in the smaller bathrooms typical of interwar Kedron homes.
Shower, bath and toilet installation:
Quality showers, baths and toilets fitted to suit both heritage and contemporary Kedron homes.

We contacted TRG the night prior and received immediate contact. Their team was on-site within 36 hours and completed a very tricky job of installing a new Water heater in a tight loft space to replace one that was leaking and causing damage. They perform their duties with great professionalism and quality work, on time and to the exact quote they stated. I would use them again and encourage anyone else to use them also. Ian

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had no idea how big the problem was with our drainage. TRG Plumbing were amazing - they offered alternate solutions looking for the least invasive and most cost efficient way to fix the issues.
Josh from TRG was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble - he took the time to explain everything and really cared about our job and the outcome.
Tom and his team go over and above.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were really impressed with the service and experience we had with TRG. They installed a new hot water heater for us and fixed the drainage of our downpipes to connect to the stormwater at the street. They took care to really understand exactly what we were after with the work and made sure it was as neat and tidy as possible. They worked quickly and efficiently and their price was way more competitive than some of the other quotes we got. Tyrone, who mainly worked on the project, was really easy to deal with and we were very happy with the outcome. Would recommend.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t rate these guys highly enough. Had a plumbing issue for 3years, had 3 different plumbers come out and given wildly different fixes with a huge variant in cost, ranging from 2k to 10k+ & ripping off walls to saying it can’t be done. Tom was immediately confident they could fix it and the team (shoutout Josh & Anthony!) who thought outside the box, found the water cut off for the unit which the other 3 failed to do & fixed the problem promptly without knocking down any walls while keeping price in a very reasonable range. Also organised a plasterer & tiler to work concurrently with them & get the job done super fast. Brilliant all round, would recommend to anyone getting the run around. Never felt talked down to or patronised in any way & they showed up on time! Great communication and fully informed before any tasks started, with price point of differences given for each step. Just top blokes. I won’t use anyone else now. Huge thank you TRG!!

Ready to renovate your Kedron bathroom while preserving the period charm of your character Queenslander or post-war cottage?

Renovating Character Queenslander Bathrooms in Kedron

Kedron's Avenues precinct east of Leckie Road is renowned for its 1920s interwar Queenslanders, and renovating their bathrooms takes a careful hand. We work with original timber floors, VJ walls and high-set framing to modernise plumbing and fixtures without stripping away the period charm. Our plumbers handle the quirks of older homes—non-standard pipe sizes, lead-headed fittings and aged drainage—so your renovated bathroom feels fresh yet faithful to your home's heritage character.

Plumbing Upgrades for Post-War Homes in Kedron

Beyond the Avenues, much of Kedron's housing is early post-war low-set cottages on typical 500–600 m² blocks. These homes often retain original galvanised pipework that corrodes and restricts flow over time. As part of a bathroom renovation, we replace ageing supply and waste lines, reroute plumbing to suit new layouts, and bring everything up to current standards—giving your Kedron home reliable pressure and drainage for decades.

Waterproofing and Drainage in Flood-Aware Kedron

Kedron sits on the Kedron Brook floodplain, with low-lying streets mapped as flood-prone—dramatically shown in the record 2022 event. While bathroom waterproofing is about internal moisture, we treat water management seriously across the board. Every renovation includes compliant membrane waterproofing to protect timber subfloors and adjoining rooms, plus correctly graded floor wastes and falls so showers and baths drain efficiently in Brisbane's humid, storm-prone subtropical climate.

Bathroom Renovations Kedron FAQ

Renovating a bathroom in Kedron often means working in character Queenslanders or post-war cottages with their own challenges. Here are answers to common questions from local homeowners across the suburb.

Can you renovate the bathroom in my older or heritage Kedron home?

Absolutely. Many Kedron homes are interwar and post-war character Queenslanders, especially in the Avenues east of Leckie Road. We're experienced at modernising these bathrooms while preserving period detail and carefully working around original timber framing and ageing plumbing.

Do I need council approval for a bathroom renovation in Kedron?

Most like-for-like bathroom renovations don't require Brisbane City Council approval, but work involving structural changes, drainage alterations or heritage-listed buildings may. Kedron's Avenues includes heritage-listed buildings, so we'll advise on any approvals needed for your specific home.

How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Kedron?

Cost depends on the size of the bathroom, the fixtures chosen and how much plumbing needs upgrading. Older Kedron homes with original pipework or unusual layouts can require more work, so we provide a detailed, upfront quote after assessing your bathroom.

What waterproofing standards do you follow?

All our bathroom waterproofing meets current Australian Standards, which is essential in Kedron's timber-framed homes where moisture can damage subfloors. We install compliant membranes and correctly graded floor wastes so water drains away properly in Brisbane's humid climate.

Can you design a small or character bathroom that still feels modern?

Yes. Many interwar Kedron homes have compact bathrooms, so we use custom vanities, clever storage and smart layouts to maximise space. We balance modern fixtures with finishes that respect your home's period character.

Do you handle the entire bathroom renovation?

We manage the complete renovation for Kedron homeowners—from design and plumbing upgrades to waterproofing, tiling, vanities and final fixture installation. You deal with one trusted, licensed and insured team from start to finish.
