Plumbing Renovations Albion

Bathroom Renovations Albion

TRG Plumbing & Drainage delivers fully licensed and insured bathroom renovations throughout Albion, an inner north-eastern Brisbane suburb sitting around 5.1km from the CBD. Albion's housing tells two stories at once: late-1880s workers' cottages, like those on Ellen Street, alongside modern brick homes and unit blocks in a rapidly redeveloping former industrial hub. Renovating an older bathroom here means respecting period detail while bringing plumbing up to current standards. We also account for Albion's varied terrain, from the elevated ground over Albion Hill to lower-lying land near Breakfast Creek, when planning drainage and fixtures. Whether you're restoring a heritage cottage or modernising a unit near Sandgate Road, we manage the entire renovation.

Our Albion Bathroom Renovations Services Include:

Complete bathroom design and fit-out:
Full design and project management for Albion homes, from heritage cottages to modern units off Hudson Road.
Plumbing upgrades and relocations:
Upgrading dated pipework in Albion's older cottages and relocating services to suit a smarter, modern layout.
Waterproofing and tiling:
Compliant waterproofing and precise tiling that protects your Albion home through Brisbane's subtropical wet seasons.
Fixture and tapware installation:
Supplying and fitting quality tapware and fixtures that suit both period and contemporary Albion bathrooms.
Custom vanity and storage solutions:
Clever, made-to-measure vanities and storage to maximise space in Albion's compact cottage bathrooms.
Shower, bath and toilet installation:
Professional installation of showers, baths and toilets to refresh any Albion bathroom from the ground up.

We contacted TRG the night prior and received immediate contact. Their team was on-site within 36 hours and completed a very tricky job of installing a new Water heater in a tight loft space to replace one that was leaking and causing damage. They perform their duties with great professionalism and quality work, on time and to the exact quote they stated. I would use them again and encourage anyone else to use them also. Ian

Planning a bathroom renovation in your Albion cottage or modern home and want it done right the first time?

Renovating Heritage Cottage Bathrooms in Albion

Many Albion homes are late-1880s workers' cottages, including the well-known examples on Ellen Street, where bathrooms were often added long after the house was built. We renovate these spaces carefully, preserving period features like timber detailing and proportions while replacing aged pipework, lead-prone fittings and tired surfaces. The result is a bathroom that feels true to the home's character yet performs to modern standards, giving Albion's heritage cottages comfort and reliability without sacrificing their history.

Drainage and Waterproofing for Albion's Terrain

Albion's landscape ranges from the elevated ground winding over Albion Hill along Hudson and Sandgate roads to historically low-lying land near Breakfast Creek, the old racecourse site. The suburb also features in Brisbane's flood mapping after the 2011 and 2022 events. We plan drainage falls, waterproofing and fixture heights with this terrain in mind, ensuring water moves away cleanly and your renovated Albion bathroom stays protected during heavy subtropical downpours.

Modern Fit-Outs for Albion's New Builds and Units

As a rapidly redeveloping former industrial hub, Albion now has plenty of modern brick homes and unit blocks alongside its older stock. For these properties we deliver contemporary fit-outs with efficient layouts, quality tapware and custom storage. Working near busy corridors like Sandgate Road and close to Albion railway station, we coordinate access and trades efficiently so your renovation runs smoothly with minimal disruption to daily life.

Bathroom Renovations Albion FAQ

Renovating a bathroom in Albion comes with its own considerations, from heritage cottages on Ellen Street to modern units near Sandgate Road. Here are answers to the questions Albion homeowners ask us most.

Can you renovate a bathroom in an older Albion cottage?

Absolutely. Many Albion homes are late-1880s workers' cottages, and we specialise in renovating their bathrooms while preserving period detail. We replace aged pipework and surfaces and bring everything up to current standards without compromising the home's character.

Do I need council approval for a bathroom renovation in Albion?

Most like-for-like bathroom renovations don't need full council approval, but plumbing and drainage work must be carried out and certified by a licensed plumber. If your Albion home is heritage-listed or you're altering the building footprint, additional approvals through Brisbane City Council may apply, and we can advise you.

How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Albion?

Cost depends on the size of the bathroom, the condition of existing plumbing and the fixtures you choose. Older Albion cottages sometimes need extra plumbing upgrades, while modern units are often more straightforward. We provide a detailed, transparent quote after assessing your space.

What waterproofing standards do you follow?

All our waterproofing meets the relevant Australian Standards and is completed by qualified tradespeople before tiling begins. This is especially important in Albion given Brisbane's subtropical climate and the suburb's history of heavy rain during the 2011 and 2022 flood events.

Can you design a small or character bathroom for my Albion home?

Yes. Compact cottage bathrooms are common across Albion, and we design clever layouts with custom vanities and storage to make the most of limited space. We tailor finishes to suit either period or modern homes so the result feels cohesive.

Do you handle the entire bathroom renovation?

We manage the complete renovation for Albion homeowners, from design and demolition to plumbing, waterproofing, tiling, fixtures and final fit-out. Coordinating all the trades ourselves keeps the project on schedule and ensures consistent quality from start to finish.
