Plumbing Renovations Newstead

Bathroom Renovations Newstead

TRG Plumbing's licensed and insured plumbers deliver complete bathroom renovations across Newstead, an inner-northern riverside suburb just 3.6 km from the Brisbane CBD. We work sensitively with the suburb's diverse housing, from modern high-rise apartments and converted Art Deco woolstores near Skyring Terrace to the scattered heritage Queenslanders that survive among the units. With roughly 98% of dwellings recorded as flats, we understand the access, strata and space constraints of apartment living here. We also factor in Newstead's flood-prone, low-lying riverside and Breakfast Creek areas, ensuring drainage and waterproofing stand up to subtropical storms. Every renovation modernises your bathroom while preserving the period detail that gives Newstead homes their character.

Our Newstead Bathroom Renovations Services Include:

Complete bathroom design and fit-out:
End-to-end design and build tailored to Newstead apartments, converted warehouses and character Queenslanders.
Plumbing upgrades and relocations:

Waterproofing and tiling:
Compliant waterproofing and quality tiling built to handle Newstead's humid, storm-prone riverside conditions.
Fixture and tapware installation:
Supplying and installing modern, water-efficient tapware and fixtures throughout your Newstead bathroom.
Custom vanity and storage solutions:
Clever, space-saving vanities ideal for the compact bathrooms common in Newstead's dense apartment stock.
Shower, bath and toilet installation:

We contacted TRG the night prior and received immediate contact. Their team was on-site within 36 hours and completed a very tricky job of installing a new Water heater in a tight loft space to replace one that was leaking and causing damage. They perform their duties with great professionalism and quality work, on time and to the exact quote they stated. I would use them again and encourage anyone else to use them also. Ian

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really appreciate the work of this team. I needed quick help and they had replacement pump installed by 10am the next morning. Other plumbers were needing 2.5 weeks or weren’t returning my calls. Many thanks Tom!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an urgent request from one of our retail clients and needed a plumber onsite as soon as possible. Tom was able to arrange for a team member to attend within the hour, which was fantastic service.

This was our first time using TRG Plumbing, and we were extremely impressed with their prompt response and professionalism. We would highly recommend TRG Plumbing and will definitely be adding them to our subcontractor list for future projects.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had no idea how big the problem was with our drainage. TRG Plumbing were amazing - they offered alternate solutions looking for the least invasive and most cost efficient way to fix the issues.
Josh from TRG was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble - he took the time to explain everything and really cared about our job and the outcome.
Tom and his team go over and above.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were really impressed with the service and experience we had with TRG. They installed a new hot water heater for us and fixed the drainage of our downpipes to connect to the stormwater at the street. They took care to really understand exactly what we were after with the work and made sure it was as neat and tidy as possible. They worked quickly and efficiently and their price was way more competitive than some of the other quotes we got. Tyrone, who mainly worked on the project, was really easy to deal with and we were very happy with the outcome. Would recommend.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t rate these guys highly enough. Had a plumbing issue for 3years, had 3 different plumbers come out and given wildly different fixes with a huge variant in cost, ranging from 2k to 10k+ & ripping off walls to saying it can’t be done. Tom was immediately confident they could fix it and the team (shoutout Josh & Anthony!) who thought outside the box, found the water cut off for the unit which the other 3 failed to do & fixed the problem promptly without knocking down any walls while keeping price in a very reasonable range. Also organised a plasterer & tiler to work concurrently with them & get the job done super fast. Brilliant all round, would recommend to anyone getting the run around. Never felt talked down to or patronised in any way & they showed up on time! Great communication and fully informed before any tasks started, with price point of differences given for each step. Just top blokes. I won’t use anyone else now. Huge thank you TRG!!

CALL US ANYTIME, DAY OR NIGHT

Ready to transform your Newstead bathroom, whether in a riverside apartment or a heritage Queenslander near Newstead House?

Character-Sensitive Bathroom Renovations in Newstead

Newstead blends modern high-rise apartments, converted interwar and Art Deco woolstores, and the occasional heritage Queenslander surviving from the suburb's gasworks era. We renovate with respect for these period details, preserving original features where possible while introducing modern plumbing, water-efficient fixtures and contemporary finishes. Whether you own a converted warehouse near Commercial Road or an older home off Doggett Street, our team balances heritage character with present-day comfort and reliable performance.

Apartment Bathroom Renovations Across Newstead

With around 98% of Newstead dwellings recorded as flats or units, much of our work involves apartments near Gasworks Plaza, Skyring Terrace and the riverside towers. These projects bring particular challenges, from strata approvals and lift access to working within existing plumbing risers and compact floor plans. We coordinate carefully with body corporates and neighbours, keeping disruption minimal while delivering a polished, functional bathroom that maximises every square metre of limited apartment space.

Waterproofing and Drainage for Flood-Prone Newstead

Newstead's low-lying riverside and Breakfast Creek areas are flood-prone, with the 2011 flooding reaching the old gasworks near Chester Street. Combined with humid subtropical storms, this makes proper waterproofing and drainage essential. We waterproof to Australian Standards before tiling, ensuring membranes, falls and drainage are correctly installed. This protects your renovation against moisture damage and gives Newstead homeowners lasting peace of mind in a suburb where water management is a genuine concern.

Bathroom Renovations Newstead FAQ

Common questions from Newstead homeowners and apartment owners about renovating bathrooms in this riverside, heritage-rich suburb. If your question isn't answered below, our licensed plumbers are happy to help.

Can you renovate heritage or older bathrooms in Newstead?

Yes. Newstead has scattered heritage Queenslanders and converted Art Deco woolstores, and we specialise in modernising these spaces while preserving period detail. We update outdated plumbing and fixtures sensitively so the bathroom feels contemporary without losing its character.

Do I need council approval for a bathroom renovation in Newstead?

Most like-for-like bathroom renovations don't require Brisbane City Council approval, but heritage-listed properties or structural changes can. Apartment owners usually also need body corporate consent. We'll advise on what's needed for your specific Newstead property before work begins.

How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Newstead?

Cost depends on the size, fixtures, tiling and scope of plumbing work. A compact Newstead apartment bathroom differs greatly from a full heritage Queenslander renovation. We provide a clear, itemised quote upfront so you know exactly what's included with no surprises.

What waterproofing standards do you follow?

We waterproof to the relevant Australian Standards, installing membranes, correct falls and drainage before any tiling. In flood-prone, storm-exposed Newstead near the Brisbane River and Breakfast Creek, reliable waterproofing is essential to protect your renovation long term.

Can you design a small or character bathroom?

Absolutely. With around 98% of Newstead dwellings being flats or units, compact bathrooms are common. We use custom vanities, smart storage and clever layouts to maximise small spaces, and tailor designs to suit both apartments and character homes.

Do you handle the entire renovation?

Yes. We manage the complete process for Newstead bathrooms, from design and plumbing through to waterproofing, tiling, fixtures and final fit-out. We coordinate trades and, where needed, liaise with body corporates so your project runs smoothly start to finish.
