The brass taps in Windsor's late-1800s and early-1900s homes have often been re-washered many times, and the drip keeps returning because the seat is pitted and grit from ageing galvanised pipework chews through each new washer. We re-machine the seat, fit new washers and O-rings and check the spindle. Where a tap is beyond saving we can fit period-style tapware that suits the home.

Shower Leaks Behind Timber Walls in Windsor

A shower tap that leaks at the breech, behind the wall, is the most damaging tap fault in a timber Queenslander. The water runs down inside the wall onto original framing and floor timbers, and the first sign is often a musty smell, soft skirting or lifting tiles. We reseat and re-washer the tap bodies and replace the breech where needed before the damage spreads.

Garden Taps on Windsor's Established Blocks

Windsor's roughly 600 square metre blocks carry established gardens, so hose taps work hard year round. Can I fix a dripping tap in my Windsor home myself?
