Stormwater Drainage Windsor

TRG Plumbing's licensed and insured plumbers deliver reliable stormwater drainage solutions across Windsor, an inner-northern Brisbane suburb just 5.5 km from the CBD. Sitting near Enoggera Creek and Kedron Brook, Windsor has genuine flood and drainage concerns — the area was inundated in both January 2011 and 2022, and features in Brisbane's creek and waterway flood mapping. With low-lying ground close to the creeks, hilly slopes shedding runoff toward older lots, and grand Queenslanders on roughly 600m² blocks, heavy summer downpours can quickly overwhelm undersized drainage. We design, install and maintain stormwater systems that move water away from your home efficiently and keep your property protected through every wet season.

Our Windsor Stormwater Drainage Services Include:

Custom-designed stormwater systems:
Tailored designs for Windsor's sloping blocks and low-lying lots near Enoggera Creek, sized for Brisbane's intense summer storms.
Installation of pits, trench drains, French drains and pipe networks:
We install complete drainage networks to capture and channel runoff away from character homes and renovated cottages.
Stormwater upgrades and repairs:
Upgrading aging or undersized systems on Windsor's older properties so they cope with today's heavy downpours.
Blockage clearing and scheduled maintenance:
Clearing leaf litter and debris from pits and pipes, with regular servicing to keep drains flowing before storm season.
Full compliance with Brisbane City Council standards:
All Windsor stormwater work meets Council requirements and connects correctly to legal points of discharge.

We contacted TRG the night prior and received immediate contact. Their team was on-site within 36 hours and completed a very tricky job of installing a new Water heater in a tight loft space to replace one that was leaking and causing damage. They perform their duties with great professionalism and quality work, on time and to the exact quote they stated. I would use them again and encourage anyone else to use them also. Ian

Worried about stormwater runoff or creek-related flooding affecting your Windsor home this storm season?

Designing Stormwater Systems for Windsor's Creeks and Slopes

Windsor's terrain is shaped by Enoggera and Kedron Brook, with low-lying residential pockets sitting close to the water and hilly sections offering city views. We assess your block's gradient, soil and surrounding runoff before designing a system that captures water uphill and directs it safely to the legal point of discharge. This is especially important given Windsor's documented flood history and its inclusion in Brisbane's creek and waterway flood mapping.

Protecting Windsor's Character Homes from Stormwater Damage

Many Windsor homes are timber Queenslanders and renovated workers' cottages dating from the late 1800s and early 1900s. These character properties often have original or undersized drainage that struggles with modern rainfall intensity. Poor stormwater management can lead to pooling under raised homes, eroded foundations and damp subfloors. We design discreet, effective drainage that protects heritage features while keeping water well clear of stumps, footings and gardens.

Stormwater Compliance and Council Approval in Windsor

Stormwater works in Windsor must comply with Brisbane City Council standards, including correct connection to an approved legal point of discharge. With many established lots around 600m² and varied slopes, getting the design and approvals right matters. TRG Plumbing handles the technical detail — sizing pipework, locating discharge points and ensuring every installation meets Council requirements so your system is both compliant and built to last.

Stormwater Drainage Windsor FAQ

Common questions from Windsor homeowners about stormwater drainage, flood protection and keeping properties dry near Enoggera Creek and Kedron Brook.

Why does stormwater drainage matter so much in Windsor?

Windsor sits close to Enoggera Creek and Kedron Brook and has flooded in both January 2011 and 2022, and the suburb appears in Brisbane's creek and waterway flood mapping. Effective stormwater drainage moves heavy runoff away from your home quickly, reducing the risk of pooling, erosion and water damage during Brisbane's intense summer storms.

What are the signs of a stormwater drainage problem?

Watch for water pooling in the yard after rain, overflowing gutters and downpipes, damp or eroding ground around foundations, and water sitting under raised Queenslanders. On Windsor's sloping blocks, runoff streaming toward the house or surface water that takes hours to clear are clear signs your drainage needs attention.

Do I need council approval for stormwater works in Windsor?

Stormwater work in Windsor must comply with Brisbane City Council standards and connect to an approved legal point of discharge. Some works require approval depending on scope. TRG Plumbing manages the compliance side, ensuring your system meets all Council requirements before and after installation.

How is a new stormwater system installed?

We start by assessing your Windsor block's slope, soil and runoff patterns, then design a system using pits, trench drains, French drains and pipe networks sized for heavy rainfall. We install everything to fall correctly toward the legal discharge point, ensuring water is carried efficiently away from your home and foundations.

Can you repair blocked or damaged stormwater pipes?

Yes. We clear blockages caused by leaf litter, silt and root intrusion, and repair or replace cracked, collapsed or undersized pipes. Many older Windsor properties have aging drainage that struggles with modern downpours, so we assess the full network and restore proper flow.

What causes stormwater issues in Windsor?

Windsor's proximity to creeks, low-lying ground and hilly slopes shedding runoff all contribute, alongside heavy summer downpours. Established lots with original or undersized drainage, leaf litter from mature gardens and blocked pits often combine to overwhelm older systems during intense rain events.
