The jumper-valve taps in Bardon's heritage Queenslanders and post-war homes were made to be serviced, but after decades of washer changes the brass seat is usually pitted, so a new washer only holds for a few weeks. We reseat the tap with the proper cutting tool, fit new washers and O-rings and, where the body is beyond saving, replace the set with tapware that suits the home.

Shower Leaks Inside Timber Walls in Bardon

In a timber-framed Bardon Queenslander, a shower tap leaking at the spindle or breech wets the framing behind the tiles rather than the floor, and the damage is well advanced before anything shows. A shower that keeps dripping after a washer change usually has a worn seat or spindle. We fix it properly and check the wall for moisture while the tap is apart.
