Blocked Drains & CCTV Clayfield

TRG Plumbing's licensed and insured plumbers clear blocked drains and run CCTV camera inspections right across Clayfield, the established inner-northern suburb 7.4 kilometres north-east of the Brisbane CBD. Many of Clayfield's stately Queenslanders and Interwar homes in precincts like Enderley Road still run on aged earthenware sewer pipes that crack and let in tree roots from the suburb's mature, leafy street plantings. Properties on the low-lying northern edge near Kedron Brook and Kalinga can also see stormwater back up in heavy rain. We locate the exact cause underground, then clear and repair it with minimal disruption to your home and garden.

Our Clayfield Blocked Drains & CCTV Services Include:

Emergency blocked drain repairs:
Rapid response for overflowing toilets and gurgling drains in Clayfield homes, day or night.
CCTV drain camera inspections:
We send a camera through Clayfield's old earthenware pipes to pinpoint blockages and root intrusion exactly.
High-pressure water jetting:
Powerful jetting cuts through tree roots and grease common in established Clayfield sewer lines.
Stormwater drain clearing:
Clearing stormwater lines for low-lying Clayfield properties near Kedron Brook and Kalinga Park.
Drain & pipe relining:
No-dig relining restores cracked clay pipes under Clayfield's mature gardens and elevated blocks.
Preventative drain maintenance:
Scheduled checks keep tree roots and debris from blocking your Clayfield drains again.

We contacted TRG the night prior and received immediate contact. Their team was on-site within 36 hours and completed a very tricky job of installing a new Water heater in a tight loft space to replace one that was leaking and causing damage. They perform their duties with great professionalism and quality work, on time and to the exact quote they stated. I would use them again and encourage anyone else to use them also. Ian

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had no idea how big the problem was with our drainage. TRG Plumbing were amazing - they offered alternate solutions looking for the least invasive and most cost efficient way to fix the issues.
Josh from TRG was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble - he took the time to explain everything and really cared about our job and the outcome.
Tom and his team go over and above.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were really impressed with the service and experience we had with TRG. They installed a new hot water heater for us and fixed the drainage of our downpipes to connect to the stormwater at the street. They took care to really understand exactly what we were after with the work and made sure it was as neat and tidy as possible. They worked quickly and efficiently and their price was way more competitive than some of the other quotes we got. Tyrone, who mainly worked on the project, was really easy to deal with and we were very happy with the outcome. Would recommend.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t rate these guys highly enough. Had a plumbing issue for 3years, had 3 different plumbers come out and given wildly different fixes with a huge variant in cost, ranging from 2k to 10k+ & ripping off walls to saying it can’t be done. Tom was immediately confident they could fix it and the team (shoutout Josh & Anthony!) who thought outside the box, found the water cut off for the unit which the other 3 failed to do & fixed the problem promptly without knocking down any walls while keeping price in a very reasonable range. Also organised a plasterer & tiler to work concurrently with them & get the job done super fast. Brilliant all round, would recommend to anyone getting the run around. Never felt talked down to or patronised in any way & they showed up on time! Great communication and fully informed before any tasks started, with price point of differences given for each step. Just top blokes. I won’t use anyone else now. Huge thank you TRG!!

Dealing with a blocked drain or slow-draining pipe in your Clayfield Queenslander near Kedron Brook or Eagle Junction?

Tree-Root Intrusion in Clayfield's Old Clay Sewer Pipes

Clayfield is celebrated for its tree-lined streets and mature plantings, but those same roots are the number-one enemy of the suburb's ageing earthenware sewer pipes. Tiny cracks and loose joints leak moisture that roots chase, eventually filling the pipe and causing recurring blockages. Our CCTV cameras confirm exactly where roots have entered, then high-pressure jetting cuts them clear so we can plan a lasting repair rather than a temporary fix.

Stormwater Drainage Near Kedron Brook and Kalinga

While much of Clayfield sits on elevated blocks, properties along the northern edge near Kedron Brook and Kalinga Park sit lower on the floodplain. In Brisbane's heavy subtropical downpours, stormwater drains here can choke with leaves and silt and back up quickly. We clear and inspect stormwater lines, pits and downpipe connections so water flows away from your home rather than pooling around foundations and under-house areas.

CCTV Drain Inspections for Clayfield Heritage Homes

Clayfield's heritage Queenslanders and Interwar homes around Enderley Road often have original pipework hidden beneath established gardens and masonry piers. Digging blindly risks damaging mature landscaping and footings. A CCTV inspection lets us see inside the pipe, measure the depth and location of the fault, and recommend targeted repairs or relining, protecting the character and value of your established Clayfield property.

Blocked Drains & CCTV Clayfield FAQ

Common questions from Clayfield homeowners about blocked drains, CCTV inspections and pipe repairs in our established inner-northern suburb.

What are the signs of a blocked drain?

Watch for slow-draining sinks and showers, gurgling toilets, water pooling in the yard, and unpleasant sewage smells. In older Clayfield homes these often point to root intrusion in aged clay pipes, so it's worth booking an inspection early before a full blockage occurs.

Can you clear a blocked drain in an emergency?

Yes. We offer emergency blocked drain repairs across Clayfield for overflowing toilets and backed-up drains. Our licensed plumbers respond quickly to clear the blockage and protect your home, which is especially important for low-lying properties near Kedron Brook during heavy rain.

What is a CCTV drain inspection?

We feed a small waterproof camera through your drain to view the inside of the pipe in real time. This lets us pinpoint the exact location and cause of a blockage in your Clayfield property without digging up gardens or driveways.

Why does CCTV help with old pipes?

Many Clayfield homes still run on original earthenware sewer pipes that crack and shift over time. CCTV reveals hairline cracks, root intrusion and collapsed sections precisely, so we can target the repair or relining instead of guessing and disturbing your heritage home's established landscaping.

What causes blocked drains in Clayfield?

The two biggest local causes are tree-root intrusion from Clayfield's mature, leafy streets entering old clay sewer pipes, and stormwater debris choking drains on low-lying blocks near Kedron Brook and Kalinga. Grease, wipes and foreign objects also commonly cause household blockages.

Can you repair damaged drains without digging?

Yes. Pipe relining inserts a durable new liner inside the existing pipe, sealing cracks and stopping root intrusion without excavation. This is ideal for Clayfield's established gardens, elevated blocks and heritage homes where digging up the yard would be costly and disruptive.
