Blocked Drains & CCTV Nundah

TRG Plumbing's licensed and insured plumbers clear blocked drains and run CCTV camera inspections right across Nundah, an inner suburb roughly 8.9 km NNE of the Brisbane CBD. Many Nundah homes are interwar Queenslanders and late-nineteenth-century workers' cottages still served by old earthenware and clay sewer pipes, which mature street trees love to invade. Low-lying pockets near Kedron Brook and the Schulz Canal, including streets behind the old Toombul carpark, are prone to flash flooding and overloaded stormwater during the summer thunderstorm season. Whether your blockage is root intrusion, a collapsed section or storm debris, we diagnose the exact cause with a camera and clear it properly the first time.

Our Nundah Blocked Drains & CCTV Services Include:

Emergency blocked drain repairs:
Rapid response when a Nundah toilet, sink or sewer backs up, day or night during peak storm season.
CCTV drain camera inspections:
We send a camera through your old clay pipes to pinpoint root intrusion, cracks and collapses underground.
High-pressure water jetting:
Powerful jetting cuts through tree roots and grease that clog Nundah's ageing earthenware sewer lines.
Stormwater drain clearing:
We clear blocked stormwater drains in low-lying streets near Kedron Brook and the Schulz Canal.
Drain & pipe relining:
Trenchless relining repairs damaged Nundah pipes without digging up gardens or heritage Queenslander foundations.
Preventative drain maintenance:
Scheduled checks and jetting keep root-prone Nundah drains flowing ahead of the wet summer months.

We contacted TRG the night prior and received immediate contact. Their team was on-site within 36 hours and completed a very tricky job of installing a new Water heater in a tight loft space to replace one that was leaking and causing damage. They perform their duties with great professionalism and quality work, on time and to the exact quote they stated. I would use them again and encourage anyone else to use them also. Ian

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had no idea how big the problem was with our drainage. TRG Plumbing were amazing - they offered alternate solutions looking for the least invasive and most cost efficient way to fix the issues.
Josh from TRG was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble - he took the time to explain everything and really cared about our job and the outcome.
Tom and his team go over and above.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were really impressed with the service and experience we had with TRG. They installed a new hot water heater for us and fixed the drainage of our downpipes to connect to the stormwater at the street. They took care to really understand exactly what we were after with the work and made sure it was as neat and tidy as possible. They worked quickly and efficiently and their price was way more competitive than some of the other quotes we got. Tyrone, who mainly worked on the project, was really easy to deal with and we were very happy with the outcome. Would recommend.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t rate these guys highly enough. Had a plumbing issue for 3years, had 3 different plumbers come out and given wildly different fixes with a huge variant in cost, ranging from 2k to 10k+ & ripping off walls to saying it can’t be done. Tom was immediately confident they could fix it and the team (shoutout Josh & Anthony!) who thought outside the box, found the water cut off for the unit which the other 3 failed to do & fixed the problem promptly without knocking down any walls while keeping price in a very reasonable range. Also organised a plasterer & tiler to work concurrently with them & get the job done super fast. Brilliant all round, would recommend to anyone getting the run around. Never felt talked down to or patronised in any way & they showed up on time! Great communication and fully informed before any tasks started, with price point of differences given for each step. Just top blokes. I won’t use anyone else now. Huge thank you TRG!!

Battling tree roots in old clay sewer pipes or a blocked stormwater drain near Schulz Canal in Nundah?

Tree Roots in Nundah's Old Clay Sewer Pipes

Nundah's interwar Queenslanders and workers' cottages are often served by original earthenware and clay sewer lines with jointed sections. Mature trees along the suburb's ridge and leafy streets send roots toward the moisture and nutrients inside these pipes, creating recurring blockages and slow drains. We use CCTV to locate the exact intrusion point, jet the roots out and recommend relining where joints have failed, so the problem doesn't simply return the following season.

Stormwater & Flash Flooding in Low-Lying Nundah

Kedron Brook meets the Schulz Canal at Nundah, and low elevations near the old Toombul carpark are notably prone to flash flooding during peak storms, as seen during ex-Cyclone Alfred in 2025. When subtropical thunderstorms dump heavy rain, leaf litter and silt can overwhelm stormwater drains. We clear and inspect stormwater lines, gullies and pits so water moves away from your Nundah home rather than pooling around the foundations.

Trenchless Drain Repairs for Nundah Homes

Digging up an established Nundah garden or the footings of a heritage timber home is disruptive and costly. Our pipe relining inserts a durable new lining inside the existing pipe, sealing cracks and root entry points without major excavation. After a CCTV inspection confirms the damaged section, relining restores flow and strengthens the old earthenware line, extending its life by decades with minimal mess on your property.

Blocked Drains & CCTV Nundah FAQ

Common questions from Nundah homeowners dealing with blocked drains, tree-root intrusion in old clay pipes, and stormwater issues near Kedron Brook and the Schulz Canal.

What are the signs of a blocked drain?

Watch for slow-draining sinks and showers, gurgling toilets, water pooling around floor wastes, and bad smells. In older Nundah homes on clay pipes, recurring slow drains often point to tree-root intrusion building up over time.

Do you offer emergency drain clearing in Nundah?

Yes. Our licensed plumbers respond quickly to blocked sewer and stormwater drains across Nundah, which matters during the suburb's frequent summer thunderstorms when low-lying streets near the canal can flood fast. Call us and we'll get on-site to clear it.

What is a CCTV drain inspection?

We feed a small waterproof camera through your drain so we can see the inside of the pipe in real time. It shows exactly where and why a Nundah drain is blocking, whether from roots, a crack, a collapse or storm debris, without any guesswork.

Why does CCTV help with old pipes?

Many Nundah properties still run on original earthenware and clay sewer lines with vulnerable joints. A camera reveals hairline cracks, displaced joints and root entry points that can't be seen from the surface, so we repair the right section rather than digging blindly.

What causes blocked drains in Nundah?

The main culprits are tree roots from mature street trees invading old clay pipes, plus stormwater overload in low-lying areas near Kedron Brook and the Schulz Canal. Grease, wipes and silt washed in during heavy storms also contribute to blockages.

Can you repair damaged drains without digging?

In most cases, yes. Pipe relining seals cracks and root entry points from inside the existing pipe, so we avoid excavating established Nundah gardens or disturbing the footings of heritage Queenslander homes. We confirm suitability with a CCTV inspection first.
