Stormwater Drainage Nundah

TRG Plumbing's licensed and insured plumbers design and install stormwater drainage across Nundah, an inner suburb 8.9 km NNE of the Brisbane CBD where managing runoff is a year-round priority. Sitting at around 10 m elevation with a large ridge running northwest to southeast, Nundah sheds plenty of water during the humid subtropical summers, when thunderstorms break out often with hail and gusty winds. With Kedron Brook meeting Schulz Canal here and the Toombul carpark known for flash flooding, low-lying lots and established Queenslander blocks need reliable drainage. Whether you own an interwar timber cottage near Sandgate Road or a newer townhouse, we deliver systems that move water away fast and keep your foundations dry.

Our Nundah Stormwater Drainage Services Include:

Custom-designed stormwater systems:
We tailor each system to your Nundah lot's slope and proximity to Kedron Brook or the Schulz Canal catchment.
Installation of pits, trench drains, French drains and pipe networks:
Ideal for shedding runoff on Nundah's ridge-side blocks and established Queenslander yards.
Stormwater upgrades and repairs:
We bring older interwar-era drainage up to scratch so it copes with Nundah's heavy summer downpours.
Blockage clearing and scheduled maintenance:
We clear silt, leaves and debris before storm season hits low-lying Nundah properties.
Full compliance with Brisbane City Council standards:
Every Nundah installation meets council requirements and lawful points of discharge.

We contacted TRG the night prior and received immediate contact. Their team was on-site within 36 hours and completed a very tricky job of installing a new Water heater in a tight loft space to replace one that was leaking and causing damage. They perform their duties with great professionalism and quality work, on time and to the exact quote they stated. I would use them again and encourage anyone else to use them also. Ian

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had no idea how big the problem was with our drainage. TRG Plumbing were amazing - they offered alternate solutions looking for the least invasive and most cost efficient way to fix the issues.
Josh from TRG was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble - he took the time to explain everything and really cared about our job and the outcome.
Tom and his team go over and above.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were really impressed with the service and experience we had with TRG. They installed a new hot water heater for us and fixed the drainage of our downpipes to connect to the stormwater at the street. They took care to really understand exactly what we were after with the work and made sure it was as neat and tidy as possible. They worked quickly and efficiently and their price was way more competitive than some of the other quotes we got. Tyrone, who mainly worked on the project, was really easy to deal with and we were very happy with the outcome. Would recommend.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t rate these guys highly enough. Had a plumbing issue for 3years, had 3 different plumbers come out and given wildly different fixes with a huge variant in cost, ranging from 2k to 10k+ & ripping off walls to saying it can’t be done. Tom was immediately confident they could fix it and the team (shoutout Josh & Anthony!) who thought outside the box, found the water cut off for the unit which the other 3 failed to do & fixed the problem promptly without knocking down any walls while keeping price in a very reasonable range. Also organised a plasterer & tiler to work concurrently with them & get the job done super fast. Brilliant all round, would recommend to anyone getting the run around. Never felt talked down to or patronised in any way & they showed up on time! Great communication and fully informed before any tasks started, with price point of differences given for each step. Just top blokes. I won’t use anyone else now. Huge thank you TRG!!

NO MORE PROBLEMS

CALL US ANYTIME, DAY OR NIGHT

Is your Nundah property struggling with stormwater runoff from heavy summer storms or low-lying ground near Kedron Brook and Schulz Canal?

Why Nundah Properties Need Reliable Stormwater Drainage

Nundah's low elevation of around 10 m and its position where Kedron Brook meets the Schulz Canal make it genuinely flood-prone. The nearby Toombul carpark is notorious for flash flooding, and during ex-Cyclone Alfred in 2025 the Kedron Brook catchment, spanning over 110 square kilometres, flooded homes and roads through Nundah. A well-designed stormwater system channels runoff away from your foundations and into a lawful discharge point, protecting both timber Queenslanders and newer townhouses.

Stormwater Solutions for Nundah's Sloping, Established Lots

The large ridge running northwest to southeast through Nundah means many blocks shed water downhill, often pooling against homes lower on the slope. Established lots with mature gardens and interwar workers' cottages frequently have undersized or aged drainage. We install pits, trench drains, French drains and pipe networks suited to your block's gradient, keeping water moving even during the heavy thunderstorms that strike Nundah through summer.

Council-Compliant Stormwater Work Across Nundah

Stormwater work in Nundah must comply with Brisbane City Council standards, including proper connection to a legal point of discharge. With Schulz Canal and the Kedron Brook Floodway managing the suburb's runoff, getting discharge right matters. Our licensed plumbers handle the design, approvals and installation so your Nundah system is fully compliant and built to handle the suburb's intense seasonal rainfall.

Stormwater Drainage Nundah FAQ

Stormwater drainage is critical in Nundah, where low-lying ground near Kedron Brook and Schulz Canal meets heavy summer storms. Here are answers to common questions from local property owners.

Why does stormwater drainage matter so much in Nundah?

Nundah sits at just 10 m elevation where Kedron Brook meets the Schulz Canal, and the nearby Toombul carpark is known for flash flooding. During ex-Cyclone Alfred in 2025, the Kedron Brook catchment flooded homes and roads through the suburb, so effective drainage protects your property from costly water damage.

What are the signs of a stormwater drainage problem?

Watch for pooling water in the yard, water gathering against your foundations, soggy lawn long after rain, overflowing gutters and downpipes, or eroding soil on sloping blocks. On Nundah's ridge-side lots these signs often appear after the heavy thunderstorms that roll through during summer.

Do I need council approval for stormwater works in Nundah?

Most stormwater work in Nundah must comply with Brisbane City Council standards, including connection to a lawful point of discharge. Our licensed plumbers manage the requirements and approvals for you, ensuring every installation meets council rules.

How do you install a new stormwater system in Nundah?

We assess your block's slope and proximity to the Kedron Brook and Schulz Canal catchment, then design a custom system using pits, trench drains, French drains and pipe networks. Everything is installed to direct runoff safely to a compliant discharge point.

Can you repair blocked or damaged stormwater pipes?

Yes. We clear blockages caused by silt, leaves and debris, and repair or replace cracked, collapsed or undersized pipes. Many older Nundah homes, including interwar Queenslanders and workers' cottages, have ageing drainage that needs upgrading to cope with modern storm loads.

What causes stormwater issues in Nundah?

Nundah's low-lying ground, the large ridge shedding runoff downhill, proximity to creeks and canals, and intense summer thunderstorms with hail and wind all contribute. Established lots with aged or undersized drainage are especially prone to pooling and overflow during peak storm season.
